Collective Unconscious
Recorded just before the band broke up, and released in September of 1969, Abbey Road became an instant classic from the opening track, Come Together, through classics such as the tender Something, the passionate rocker Oh! Darling, the optimistic Here Comes The Sun, the haunting Because, and through the infamous medley that featured Polythene Pam, Golden Slumbers, and Carry That Weight. No one had heard anything like it before or since.
Collective Unconscious presents a very faithful rendition of the entire Abbey Road album, infusing it with our own personal savor.
The six piece group consists of:
Jeff Engholm – bass & vocals
Nathan Nesje – guitar & vocals
Muggsy Lauer – guitar & vocals
George Maurer – keyboards & vocals
Erin Vork – keys, percussion, guitar & vocals
Scott Chabot – drums
About Collective Unconscious
Formed in the spring of the year 2000 to support lead singer/bass player Jeff Engholm’s first solo CD (Summit Climb), CU performed around central Minnesota as a jam band. A couple of years of Wednesday nights at the Red Carpet Nightclub in St. Cloud, MN firmly established the band’s repertoire, and musicianship, and kept audiences dancing.
Cu is known for their album shows, and for the collaborations with The Fabulous Armadillos.
Featuring tight vocal harmonies, wide repertoire, and open ended musical explorations. Each member contributes original songs to the mix, and feature a healthy dose of cover songs drawn from past and present shows, ranging from The Beatles, The Band, Simon and Garfunkel, and many more.
